What will you learn?
Practical workshop where you will learn how to dye cotton fabrics with plants without using chemicals that are harmful to our health and the environment. Before starting I will talk about the plants that dye, we will see which ones can be used, we will prepare dye baths with dyeing materials such as onion, avocado, nettles, eucalyptus leaves, turmeric, etc...
I will explain the different formulas and proportions indicated for each dye bath, how to extract the colour from the plants and how to fix the colours with mordants on the fabrics.
We will also see how to use water PH modifiers that vary the colour of the dye to obtain more colour variations. We will create a colour chart and a logbook with the different formulas we have used.

In this workshop you will learn how to create prints with shading and gradient effects with stencils on textile.
